GALBA Minutes

2021-2022

The Georgia Association of Land Banks hosts a monthly round table meeting. This meeting currently held in an informal manner consist of discussion items related to the benefit and growth of Land Banks throughout Georgia. 

The Georgia Association of Land Bank Authorities, with support from members and partners across the state, held its first Land Bank Summit! This event provided information and training that proved useful to the day-to-day operations of land banking throughout Georgia. Attendees were able to network and revive their inspiration and vision for land banking.  The summit was held June 9th and 10th in Macon GA. 

 

The agenda included:

  • Panel Discussions on launching a land bank, 

  • Visioning and planning for GALBA’s future impact; and Networking and sharing experiences with land bank leaders and partners from around the state.

  • Presentations on Community Progress research into Land Banks and Community Land Trusts;

  • Plenary focused on land banking as a movement in Georgia;

  • Workshopping the next edition of the Georgia Land Bank Resource Manual with Sara Toering, Esq.

  • Judicial Tax Foreclosure Sales vs Non-Judicial Tax Sales
